J’NAI BRIDGES IN THE PLANETS & ATMOSPHERES

NOVEMBER 22nd - NOVEMBER 25th

Two-time Grammy Award–winning American mezzo-soprano J’Nai Bridges graces the world’s top opera and concert stages. This November she joins the New York Philharmonic and sings of a mother’s grief in Stabat Mater, a piece written by Black woman composer Julia Perry. Regarding her performance of Stabat Mater, J’Nai Bridges tells the Financial Times, “I am a champion specifically of black women composers and being the vessel to promote music that is so rarely performed.” Also featured in the program, Holst’s The Planets a musical journey through the solar system and Ligeti’s Atmosphéres from the film 2001: A Space Odyssey.

KINDRED WORLDS: THE PRISCILA & ALVIN HUDGINS COLLECTION

NOVEMBER 10th, 2023 - MARCH 2nd, 2025

Kindred Worlds, is a captivating exhibition drawn from the cherished collection of Priscila and Alvin Hudgins III. Dive into a world where art transcends mere expression to become a deeply personal act of world-making. Featuring an esteemed lineup of artists including Derrick Adams, Jordan Casteel, and Toyin Ojih Odutola, this exhibition is a testament to the couple's enduring devotion to the arts. Co-curated by Alyssa Alexander and Karintha Lowe, Kindred Worlds invites you to explore the intimate connections between creators and their craft.

ROMARE BEARDEN IN COMMON: THREE-DAY SYMPOSIUM

NOVEMBER 30th - DECEMBER 2nd

The three-day symposium, In Common: Romare Bearden and New Approaches to Art, Race & Economy, will examine the life, work, and impact of this American icon. Featuring contemporary creative works and perspectives from socially-conscious, politically engaged artists and commentators, the symposium will draw on Bearden’s activist legacy to spotlight the potent, yet still-too-rarely-acknowledged relationships between race, culture, economy, and the Common Good.

HOLIDELIC: A FUNKY HOLIDAY REVUE

NOVEMBER 28th - DECEMBER 1st

GRAMMY-nominated rock percussionist Everett Bradley (E Street Band, Bon Jovi) returns to Joe’s Pub for his beloved holiday funk revue: Holidelic. In Holidelic, Bradley plays the role of Papadelic, Funk’s Father Christmas, an amalgamation of George Clinton and Santa Claus, featuring holiday-themed funk songs written by Bradley and brought to life by an array of top shelf noise makers.

SIN FRONTERAS: MIREYA RAMOS & THE POOR CHOICES

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 10th

Experience the musical journey of "Sin Fronteras" presented by Mireya Ramos and The Poor Choices. This impressive project explores the music from both sides of the US/Mexican border, showcasing the talent of Latin Grammy winner Mireya Ramos and her country and western band.

Mireya Ramos is a remarkable vocalist, violinist, composer, and arranger. As the founder of Flor de Toloache, NYC's first and only all-women mariachi band, she brings a unique flavor to the project. "Sin Fronteras" is a musical passport to a special pan-cultural world where ranchera and country blend seamlessly with pop, jazz, and R&B.

IN LOVE AND STRUGGLE: THE FUTURE IS AROUND US

DECEMBER 14th, 15th, & 16th

Created by The Meteor, IN LOVE AND STRUGGLE, VOL. 3 brings together a group of visionary Black women and nonbinary people for a series of unforgettable evenings filled with storytelling, music, comedy, and monologues. This year’s theme is inspired by science fiction writer Octavia Butler and other futurists, featuring an outstanding, eclectic, wildly creative cast. Contributors include writer adrienne maree brown, voice actor Cree Summer, comedian and actress Zainab Johnson, Lincoln Center’s inaugural poet-in-residence Mahogany L. Browne, multidisciplinary artist SOL, actress and social activist Amanda Seales, vocalist, songwriter and multimedia artist Nona Hendryx, with more to be announced.

MARVEL STUDIOS’ BLACK PANTHER IN CONCERT

DECEMBER 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th

The ultimate “surround-sound” movie event!
